But I am not sure, that it is not a scratch. I mean I saw many scratchy coins, this one is obviously different to them, but I still dont 100% sure that it is die crack, as never seen one before.

If it is raised it's a die scratch. It's too straight to be a die crack.IMHO.

10c-Die-Crack?

Hi Zic, Hope you don't mind but I borrowed your pic & magnified it,i think it is a scratch or it's 2 very fine die cracks running side by side but i'd doubt that.
OH & if you want to magnify even futher you can hold the ctrl key down and hit the plus or minus key to go up & down in magnification.( thats how it works on my computer anyway, others may be different.)

I could be wrong, but it looks like a scratch to me.

It's too straight and long to be a die crack IMO.

Any other options? Doesn't resemble a planchet/lamination flaw at all, so I tend to think it's a gouge. If it's a scratch/gouge, sorry, coin is only worth 10¢.

Keep looking though, good die cracks are out there.

Very nice Nancy.
Here is another point that may be pertinent.
If you look at all Nancy's coins the cracks stop at the inner rim where as on Zic's coin the scratch/crack ? goes up over the rim,i don't think I have ever seen a die crack that runs over the rim but that does'nt mean they don't exist.

Thanks a lot Nancy! Exellent scans!
Went to local dealer, he said it's scratch definitely, the old but scratch.
He said if it would die crack of this pattern the coin would cost a lot.
Thanks for a great tutorial, next time will check many times before posting here!
