On these photoes two coins touching each other, isn't it dangerous for proof coins?

Very interesting, do you happen to know how the edge lettering is applied? The US Presidential dollars debuted in 2007 as the only edge lettered US coins. Of course, reports of missing edge lettering surfaced within weeks of release. For business strikes, the edge lettering was applied to the planchet by a bar die press and then the coin was struck- it was a two part process so it would be fairly easy to skip a step. The proof Presidential dollars had the edge lettering applied with a three segment lettered collar at the time of striking so it would be impossible to get one without edge lettering unless someone intentionally switched out the collars. I think the value of the Olympic coin will be dependent on how the error actually occurred.
