great looking coin! I'm not vastly familiar with these but I would venture a guess at the grade being AU 50 to AU 55.

You must enjoy this design as much as I do. I can't seem to get enough of these old halves.

Indeed, I am completely addicted to collecting this series, especially since a lot of ultra low mintage coins (lower than the 1916-D dime in many cases) can be had for so much cheaper.
Any more shots at this before I reveal my grade?

45+ Not AU because of the wear to the feathers on wing

The huge rim ding/gouge at 12:00 on the obverse (which isn't see on the reverse) would probably put this coin in the XF category. It is not AU quality from what I can see. Beautiful coin none the less and would love to acquire one like that for my collection....

Freedom,
There is no gouge, it is just the glare from the light hitting the holder :D
You guys are generous with this one btw....I had this as only XF+....without taking into account the rim issue. Maybe it's 45-50 I guess....IF the reverse lack of detail is a weak strike.

I think the obvious obverse wear hurts her, value that is.
That might even be considered damage because it is so uneven. My best guess would be XF40. If it were problem free.

Do you mean at the top? That's just glare.

I don't think it is AU but I think it may grade XF-40

I would look at this as at a VF+ specimen. The reverse does have some wear, but the detail on the claws and feather are nice for this coin.

EF-40 seems reasonable. The color is very attractine and the coin has beautiful original surfaces.
