I noticed on this 1940 Canada 50 cent piece that the obverse and reverse were mis-aligned. I ordered a Rota-flip to check the degree of mis-alignment. However this tool seems to be tailored to US coins. Any ideas from the knowledgeable members?

U.S or Canada, it should make no difference, as long as the coin is round...25 degree die rotation?

Can't tell how you flipped it.Keep in mind Canadian coins are medal alignment, that is 180degrees different from US coins.Your coin is 25degrees or 155degrees can't tell which from your photo.Take a picture of both sides in a mirror.

All the Rota-flip instructions talk to US coinage. I did flip the coin vertically per the instructions but realizing that Canadian coin are medal aligned, I think the Rota-flip data would be 180 degrees off. Thus said, I would believe this coin is 25% off.

Is this a good find? I can't find any data on the Internet of any other occurrence for this coin.

Also while I'm here, what would you folks do with the coin from here? Should I have it cleaned and authenticated?

I really appreciate the help....Have a great day and a better one tomorrow.

O my gosh, don't do that to it..
It will ruin the value at least in half, leave it as it is.
