I have just acquired three Mercury dimes. Two are dated to the 1940's and one in the 1920's I was wondering if they are valuable?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi Manda

Welcome to the forum !!

can you post pictures of your dimes ?

if not then the least we will need is dates and mint marks for each coin.

The mint marks on the Mercury dime are located at the bottom left of center of the reverse of the coin,, they could have a D(Denver) or an S(San Fransisco) or no mint mark which means the coin was minted in Philadelphia.

Hey welcome to the world of coins. As to your Mercury dimes, you have to be a little more specific. For example in the 20's could mean anything from 1920 to 1929. Without a photo it is difficult to come up with a value. Most in the 40's are only worth about $1. However, so much depends on the coins condition, mint mark, year, etc. Now with yours, try to discribe the condition by the amount of wear if any. For instance on the front is the hair and wings clear? Is the date clear? On the reverse is the item in the center clear? Are the bands around the thing in the middle clear? Is all tahe printing around the edges clear? If any are in the 1942 area, check out the date for a 42 over 41. Keep on checking with this forum for any additional information.

Welcome Manda. Just adding, the key dates in the 20's are: 1921, 1921-D, 1926-S, 1925-D, and 1925-S. Good luck!
