I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a 2 1/2 cent coin with "Sam Fleischer" on one side. The coin is about the size of a quarter, dark as an old penny and has 2 1/2 on one side in nice, fancy writing. The edges are smooth. I found it while digging up a garden patch, it was about 13 inches deep!
My dad thinks it's an old "bit" but no one else seems to have a clue. I'm just very curious about its history and would appreciate any thoughts. I've researched the name on the coin and only come up with stuff about an art school and a man named Sam Fleischer. Nothing about a coin.
There is no other info on the coin, just the name and cents.
Hope somebody has heard of this!
Thanks in advance.
