I think this is the guy - the coin is pretty beat overall and hard to image, but I'm 90% sure. What do you guys think?

Need a close-up of FG but for now I am going to say that it's not. The top of the G is too long. IMHO.

I don't think so either for the same reasons as John1, and the devices (AMERICA) are thicker on an RDV-006

Closest I can get a pic, unfortunately.

Blown up 200%

It really looks like RDV-006 to me. Top bar of the F is longer than the bottom bar, serifs on the G, top loop of G doesn't extend all the way across the letter, etc. I'm looking at the LMC page on variety vista for reference. Can you guys see it too, or am I dreaming?

I agree with Maineman and the others. It's probably not. Really tough without a closer photo. Compare yours with Maineman's and mine (posted below.)

Oh well, I still think I've got it, but I really can't get pics that can prove it definitively. I'm going to hang on to it until I get a scope and can tell for sure. Unfortunately, my scanner gave up the ghost so I can't even get a hi-res ugly scan of the thing. I appreciate all the feedback guys.

RollHunter....I know exactly how you feel. I bet yours in your hand looks so much different the all of the others you got. And, I bet you've been comparing them to each other. Been there and done that. At the end of a box or bag, I'll have 5 or 6 that just look so different and they just have to be the winning 88 or 88D! But, after taking a picture with my camera and then blowing it up. It's so obvious it hurts! I agree about the upper part of the "G". It doesn't look right. But hold on to it until you get the shot that convinces you...I had to do that! It's only 1 cent. I bet it was an any early coin in the run of that particular die. Try looking at the different markers for this error/variety and look less at the "G".
