I have started to put together a grouping of Coronation medals from the various monarch's of Great Britian. I think I have a good start with these. I have a silver 1837-1897 Jubliee medal for Victoria, a 1902 Silver cornation medal for Edward and a 1953 bronze/brass Elizabeth medals - actually two - one with a boat on the back the other an announcement.
I have seen silver one's from 1911 and 1937 that I am missing.
Do you have any recommendations on what I should look for and typically what price is paid?

when you say "medal", are you -
limiting the subject to medals on ribbons*, intended to be worn; or
including medallions, with no ribbons, not intended to be worn ?

*some people prefer to spell it "riband".

The medals (on ribbons) can be expensive, and are usually found in groups with other medals awarded to the recipient. As well as Coronation medals, there are silver, gold, and diamond Jubilee medals, where the Sovereign has reigned that long: 1897, 1935, 1977, 2002. Not sure about 1887.

Medallions are often issued by municipal governments, all over the Empire. They are often inexpensive, and there are many varieties. Although the mintages were low, so some varieties may require considerable patience.

I recently purchased a 1902 coronation medal in silver - 31 mm wide but have seen a larger bronze one and is there a larger silver one as well?
I have the 1939 visit medals in both the bronze and silver. I am looking for medals that do not have ribbons attached - I wouldn't call them coins as they have no denomination but they usually seem to come in protective envelopes or in a case of some kind. I have seen on ebay different ones and am under the conclusion that different cities within a country offered these medals. I think I would prefer to have medals commemorating the event from different countries in the commonwealth.
