So when I first started off I was buying random coins on online auctions. There was this one auction that wasn't that great was basically passing on most of its coins. I bought a couple coins mostly for nothing and one of the coins was a 1867 Shield nickel. I was just now looking up information on the Nickel. I found that there are 2 types ones that have rays and ones that don't. Well looking at NGC and PCGS they list rays at G at $32 and without rays at $17. Well lucky me mine has rays surprising enough. So I went back to my invoice on proxibid and saw how much I paid for it: $1.00. plus what ever fee and shipping of course.

Am I looking at this correctly haha

makes you feel even better when you buy a coin not kn owing anything about it really and then find out it is rarer than you thought at the time, that is when you really start getting excited about collecting. When it happens in reverse, where you think you know about coins and really want a coin because you think its one thing and pay accordingly and to find out it isn't what you thought or even a fake it can break your spirits just as fast as the other can raise them. But that is just the way it goes, you win some and you lose some
