Hi, my grandfather was one of 70 men involved in operation fastback and as such was presented with a wallet set of the coins. Unfortunately it was sold when he became ill. I would very much like to find it and perhaps get it back if the owner is willing to part with it. Apparently every wallet was printed with a name (Im unsure if this is true) his name was ronald hextell. If anyone could help me track it down it would be very much appreciated.
This might help you understand what it is and what it looks like. http://www.australian-threepence.co...-wallet.html I have not heard that name on a wallet. May I suggest you write a letter into Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine to maybe find the collector-custodian of this wallet now. These are very rare, not to put a downer on your quest but I doubt they would want to sell it and I don't think the catalogue value is a real indication of what these sell for if you could find one to buy. Good luck
