Bought these at a recent auction for $370 each. Just wondering what grade you think they are. I usually put the average grade from the CCF members and send them to my family for their investment portfolio. Thanks for all your opinions

1881=XF-45 and 1900 = AU-53 imo. Possibly lightly cleaned. Always a good buy at melt!

I would go both at AU-55. The reverses are amazing and don't show any wear (at least to my eyes). The obverses show a lack of detail, but owing to the condition of the reverses and the lack of rim dings from any wear, I think it's a strike( or even a photography) problem.

Well if johnny is that reputable I'll go ahead and mark these 2 in the morning. Thanks for the inputs.

Well, I wouldn't say that Moe. Your opinion is just as valid as mine. Wear is hard to decipher, but I am seeing very little luster on the first one which is why I graded it lower(an AU should have a fair amount of discernable luster). Also the eagle's neck is soft on that one. The second one appears to have much more luster, which made me think it wasn't an issue with the photography.
