Buffalo nickels are tough to grade. This one being so dirty makes it even harder, but I believe this one would make F-12 maybe better. The horn on the back is fully visible and seems to even be fully outlined which would command a VF-30 grade, but because of what appears to be surface damage to the reverse and the worn feathers on the obverse, I would say an average grade of F-12 would be appropriate. In F-12 grade this could fetch for as much as $60.00. But as always, it's worth how ever much one is willing to pay.

20/70

but the dirtiness does a lot to the value, as you know
how much did you pay if you don't mind?

Appears to be full horn, which would get an EF grade, but appears to have corrosion and darkness that would drop it back to VF. Great pick-up for 15 cents!

Do you think acetone might help with the darkness?
