The coins appear to be in nice condition. I like the Trade dollar Sorry I can't help with value.

A few are not genuine as far as I can tell. That makes me want to question all of them but there are a few that look spot on. Any way of rescanning a few at a time then cropping them using our cool new Image Optimizer would be great.

The only two that have a chance of being genuine are the Ellis Island Commemorative (suspicious mushy strike) and the 1923 Peace dollar. All the rest are counterfeits.

Sorry to say but every single one of them is a modern fake with no silver content. The 1923 Peace dollar looks fairly close to the real thing at first glance but the date is wrong, particularly the 3. On a genuine coin, the loops of the 3 are tight enough to make it almost look like an 8. Even if the wrong 3 was not so obvious, I would still doubt the coin as genuine since it is depicted with eight other obvious fakes.

I hate to agree here but I have to, every coin in this lot looks fake to me. Some are close to the correct design and others are not even close. I hate to say this also but I think your friend may have told you a story about how long they have had these because most of these has probably be made within the last few years

Those coins are way too nice looking to be true.

I am thinking the exact opposite- the quality is too poor for them to look like genuine coins. Weak, indistinct details on an otherwise MS coin is one of the surest signs of a counterfeit coin. Of course, obvious design differences/impossibilities are a big clue as well
