I'm looking for some advice on an ID of this 1883 O. I think it is a VAM-15 Slanted Date but I am not sure. On the reverse, the leaves in the wreath on the left side near the you and N are buffed like in the ID photos. There is a common clash on the reverse upper right inside the wreath and some on the wings. On the obverse the three seems to have a slight double at the bottom of the loop that looks like the example for the VAM 15. But, there is a slight horizontal crease on the one upper part of the 1. It might be a hit. It is very insignificant but for ID purposes it may be a tiny bit of doubling like the example for the VAM 14. Also there is a slight doubling at the bottom of the earlobe. I couldn't get a good shot of it but it is obvious enough that it would seem to be used as an identifier but it isn't. Anyways the shape of earlobe on this coin looks the same as the VAM 15 example. So, is it a normal die, a VAM 15 or something else? Also do the first and second eight have clash marks from the T and E (respectively) in "STATES" on the reverse? Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the novel.
Thanks
Tom.

I think you got it right with the VAM 15. slanted date, 83 is definately higher, doubling inside lower loop of 3, mm is oval, centered and upright, overpolished left weath. VAM 14 does not have the slanted date.
