Silver Dealers from Nepal are diluting their silver products with cadmium.

So if you're shopping for silver be careful. Cadmium is a carcinogen and an allergen. You do not want to eat with silverware contaminated with cadmium.

If the price for the silver product seems too good to be true, it is.

Do a search on ebay for silver nepal and you will find many products being sold. Be careful!

Great info, Fred. Thanks for posting this.

This is yet another reason why collectors should buy from legitimate dealers and manufacturers. These products can be copied but it is much less likely to be a problem when buying from recognized dealers who have "skin in the game" and who cannot afford to end up selling contaminated 3rd party products.

As in most other aspects of life, collectors are admonished to... keep their wits about them!
