O.K. guys, here is some of the latest pick ups from last month....

You will see some stuff I have already showed in last picture thread. The new stuff is two more of the Liberia world's smallest coins in Nostradamus and Galileo, my last two perhaps, which finishes out my ten coin set of the 3/4 a gram gold proof coins from Liberia. Also a new half Sovereign proof 1988 and a proof 1988 1 10th of an oz. gold Eagle, and a nice 1945 2.5 gold Peso. Lastly, there is a new silver addition which is a graded Britannia. My second graded coin, and it is picture beside my other, which is a 1990 ASE....

The entire set picture is too dark, but I attempted to take some up close detailed picture of each, and that is not easy via these 3/4 a gram gold coins....

Curious to hear some exact calculations of how much gold this is, as I am not exactly sure via three of the coins being 21 and a half K to 22K. Everything else is pure, and the small gold coins are .73 grams to be exact. I calculated nearly 23 grams of gold....

Lastly, I put my thumb in a few pictures to show scale, and the largest coin here is the half Sovereign at 3.99 grams, but of course that is 22k....

Wow that's a really neat collection you have there. I have only ever had 1 gold coin (not counting what my grandparents left me) and I sold it for $750.00 a few weeks ago..well more like a couple months ago). It was a really tough decision and I loved that coin a lot. But I wanted to have a bankroll for other things I am starting to collect

Just out of curiosity what is the most you ever paid for a gold coin?

Crystal good question. The Eagle and the half sov were each $194 and $193, and the least I have paid was for my most recent Nostradamus, a real steel in my opinion at 35 total shipping and all. Perhaps it got ignored a bit as the case is a bit scratched up. But I have yet to find a mark on any of them, as they are all very nice condition, or at least to the naked eye. I have like 438 in the 10 small coins, which breaks down to an average of $43.80, so not as ridiculous of premiums as one may think....

And nothing wrong with selling something to upgrade collection, as if you really like the gold coins, you can always get more....

Way to go, Hawk. You're going to have to change your handle to GoldHawk. You must be working overtime bidding on all of those gold pieces. Keep it up! Gold is taking a little drop in the markets so it's buying time again!

Yes, gold id good. When you get some larger coins the weight in your hand is pretty cool to experience too.

Great collection Mr Hawk, you have some beautiful acquisitions there. The gold is cool, but I particularly like the silver Britannia, maybe it's the size!
Must be getting some pretty good tips at that bar...

Sweet collection, Hawk... it's really looking nice. GJ!

OK, but now we have the pics... and the evidence is clear for all the world to see. Hawk IS a nail-biter!

Yeah Jack thanks, those are great the 2010 and most from that series. Bad dark picture, wrong angle on that Britannia. I will try and take a few more shots of it, and some silver next. Yes and it is our busy season at work, and if I close I can make 150 to 175 pretty consistently any night of the week right now, and some times as much as 200. Not much in the big picture by any means, but o.k. in this economy and times for cash on hand each day I suppose. Taxes eats up much of my paycheck however....

Thanks all, and I just paid the bills for the month, but I need a new set of tires, so that is my number one priority for next week, and then I will get back to the gold and silver....

Yes Ed thanks and I hate long nails, so I try and clip the edges and bit the rest, lol. Combine that with my anxious nervous nature, and you called it....

My father or I will pace a trench in the floor on a good day, like a father waiting on a new born....

I know what you mean Muddler, as the half sov is my largest yet and it is the first that feels like a real coin in hand so to speak. Even the 1/10ths of an oz., which I like are way small IMO. I need to get one of those one eye viewing pieces, what are those called and what do they run? As one of those seems perfect for close examination of the smaller coins, say 1 10th or less....

Yeah, I can just see you hunched over your keyboard trying to snipe someone for a gold coin on ebay about 3 AM... waiting... nervous...

Thanks Johnny. No where as nice as that beauty roll you are workin on, but a little bit here and there seems to add up pretty good....

This is a way older thread, I just dusted off the dust, and was looking at some of my older pictures, see if I missed anything....
