Hello,

Please indicate the grade of this low mintage (240,000) coin.

I'm trying to determine if it is worth sending it off to PCGS etc.

Please note that although this coin has some green growth on it, it can be effectively removed using a porcupine quill.

Thanks

In addition to the requested grade based upon the current scans I would like to know more about proofs in this particular coin.

Specifically it appears that the proofs of these type of coins (1954 and 1955) are quite pricey.

What procedure can one use to determine if a copper/bronze coin is actually a proof even though is currently appears to to be an oxidized coin? Would acetone be an acceptable cleaning agent to reveal a hidden proof etc.?

I have a complete set of these New Zealand pennies and half pennies (before decimal) many of which appear to be not circulated with many potential proofs.

Thanks
