I want to thank the soldiers of past and present. So I thought we could have a contest to see who could thank a soldier,Vet the best, I'll award prizes to the most thoughtful and thankful letters, cards, pictures, what ever you can dream up. Post your thank you, and Ill choose a number of them that we can pick winners from. If you want your creation to make it to the hands of a Soldier or Vet PM me and I'll give you my address. You will have to pay for postage to me, and then I'll pay to ship them to soldiers. I'll send them to troops serving and also set a meeting up with The Lyons VA Hospital near me at a time when I can hand some out to our remembered soldiers. If theirs any reply's I'll post them back here. Here are some of the prizes. A Current National Park Quarters P & D set, National Park Quarters P Set, D set,09 Jefferson PDS Set. 2009 Roosevelt dime & Jefferson nickel, Westward Journey Seires, Formative Years Lincoln P Set. 2010 P&D Shield Cents All prizes are CBU. Nothing is circulated!! If anyone has an idea how to fine tune this please feel free to leave ideas. I'd like to make it the easiest for our soldiers to receive a Thank You. And thank you silentasian4hire your contest led me to this idea. If you have a family member currently serving and would like their division to receive the thank yous PM me. I'm also taking ideas on how long to make this contest. Thanks for your time. I hope everyone enjoys.

Here we go: Thank you for what you do. I know all the devotion you have put forth for this country hasn't been easy. I know the deployments are long and hard. I know the times you wake up in the middle of the night for an exercise just to test your timeliness to get to the military installation in case of potential attack. I know the even longer hours you work for just a random inspection. I know you family and friends have given you grief for missing out on holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and even the simple things like a good night kiss. I know the stresses you feel to support your family on a limited income. I know you do all of these things on top of your normal day to day military job. From 1 fellow member to another, I know the sacrifices and I thank you

when I go to my sons' school, I usually end up in a meeting in the staff room. There is a bumper sticker on the wall, circulated by the Teachers' Union: "if you can read this, thank a primary teacher." - very accurate, appropriate, witty, and provocative. Each time I see it, I want to write below it: - "and if you can read it in English, thank a soldier, a sailor, and an airman."

I do not favor any division. The members I know who are deployed are being well taken care of by our booster clubs. The army or marines would be the best bet.

W1a9c8k5 no problem, When you posted from 1 fellow member to another. Their might be a chance someone you know might be currently serving. My profile is fixed so please PM me and I'll send you my address. A simple folded pc of paper with a thank you on it with your name or family name is enough to be an entry. It don't have to be elaborate, not that they don't deserve it. The goal is to receive as many as possible, cause they will be sent to solders who are currently serving over seas. I don't need to lay a guilt trip, I understand. Just please take a moment and think how great it would be for one of our men/women to receive a Thank You from a complete stranger, It gives me a good feeling inside! And I think it will do the same for them too. I'm sure many of you are doing what you can, and some even doing more. Thank You! Hope to see some PM's Have a nice day. Thanks

This is how I've always felt about our members of the military, no specific branch as I feel all are of the same importance.
Thank you all for your dedication to this country. It is because of people like you that I can wake up every day and be thankful for my freedom. A freedom currently fought for as we speak. I commend each and every one of you for your bravery, your readiness to be called to action at any given time, and the things you have gone through to be able to have the honor of serving this country. It is truly a thing to be proud of. If only all of the world could see the things you men and women do for the good of your homeland. Words alone cannot simply express my gratitude towards those who have served, are serving, or will serve in the years to come. It must be tough to have to be away from your families, but surely you understand that your sacrifice is not in vain. The freedoms you protect are what make this country, God bless all of those who have answered the call to serve.
EDIT: My apologies, I did not realize the original post date was in June before I replied. I still respect what this cause stands for because I have sent letters to soldiers in the past, all of which have been very thankful in receiving.
