I have an extra 1931 grade is a VG-10 I am thinking of selling towards the cost of an 1894 50 cents First of all please excuse the lack of a picture. Can someone tell me roughly what I can expect to get for this semi key date?

Unfortunately there's no value more than bullion value for a '31 half in VG-10. It only trends for $20.00 so you may have to shell out an extra $300.00 to trade for an 1894 in G-4!

Surprising with a mintage of only 57581 I would have thought a little more but I guess it is what it is.I basically got it for free since I used some of my metal detecting finds to buy it. Ill just hang onto it. Its still a nice coin

Yes, I've always been surprised at the low trend value on the 1931, 1934 and the 1936 Canada half dollars. They all have mintages less than 40k and can be bought for peanuts at the highest grades? Each of them trend for a mere $1K at Mintstate. And they all have a mintage comparative to the '48 silver dollar.
Try finding one of those halves I mentioned on E-bay or any world class auction in Mintstate, it will be quite a challenge.
Even most advanced Canadian collections do not have all three in Mintstate and all are highly sought after pieces and highly underrated.

p.s.: nice talking with you Santafeboy.
