I played in a poker tournament today where first prize was $150 dollars and a an AU Morgan cant remember the year. 2nd place was some money and a 1951 Franklin half dollar and third was some money and a 1948 quarter. Long story short I didn't make top 3 but I did buy the 1948 quarter from the 3rd place winner for $5 bucks and I bought the Franklin from the 2nd place winner for $10 bucks. What stinks is my friend got 2nd and if he would of got first he was gonna sell me the Morgan for $30 when it was valued at like $50. Still scored some junk silver for a good price though.

That's the kind of Poker to play. You get payed with REAL MONEY. How much was it to get in to this tournament? I'd like to get into a tournament where you could get a little gold if you're the lucky dog. Now that would get my attention.

It's very interesting to see real, honest money being offered as a prize. Could this become a trend?

I dont know it was kind of a charity tournament that was ran buy this gun club in a small town near mine. $20 went into the prize pool plus the coins and $5 went to the gun club. The guy from the gun club just happened to be a coin collector thats why he was giving away coins with te prize money but that would be an awesome trend and I hope this guy has more tournamets down the road.
