Holy double vision Batman ...

Could not think of a better LWC for your 7070EV set Scooby ... very well selected.

I think this DDO has the best eye appeal of any US doubled die.
It's the spacing/spread of the date--it's perfect.

I'm trying to go with shock and awe for my EV7070 theme.
I thought this one was the obvious choice!

Yes, very nice! I wonder if it was born in a pack of smokes, like a lot of these apparently were!
Rest in Peace

"born in a pack of smokes" Huh? Please elaborate.
Scooby Due, amazing! Great pictures. How did you get it?

I know it makes no sense but, I love cents.

My local dealer has a raw MS63RB (his grade) that he wants $4K for. I asked him where he got it ... said he purchased it off an Amish farmer who received the coin in a package of cigarettes.

I did not ask how they got into the cigarettes. Would be interesting to hear more on that!

Again ... Great coin Scooby.

'55 DDO's were included in cigarette packs which were being sold in vending machines.

Back then, a pack of cigarettes would cost 23 cents each but the vending machines would only take quarters.
So, the cigarette companies would placed Two Cents inside each pack of cigarettes to be given back as change. Anyone who inserted a quarter in the vending machine would then receive a pack of cigarettes with two Lincoln cents inside!

This is where many of the 1955 DDO's were found.

Also, with an estimated population of 20-24,000, I wonder (and how cool would it be) if there are still any original unopened packs of smokes with the obvious DDO showing?

I'd bet that would be worth a gazillion dollars!

Wow nice pick Scooby! I have never heard about the pack of smokes with 2 cents in it, that's awesome. That Dansco will definitely be full of shock and awe!
