It's just the numbers until may, by the end of the year that number could be more than double.

Just read this at Mint News Blog
http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/se...ax-results=5

Quote:
The Native American dollars are on a slower pace. However, the US Mint will be legally required to increase production at some before the close of the year. By law, at least 20% of all dollar coins produced for each year must be Native American dollars. The current percentage is 15.71%.

Apparently the Pres Dollars are final figures so it would only be another 2.02M NA's to reach the required number. Still not that many.
I'm thinking I'll probably get some.

I believe they minted 140,000,000 pres $. Isn't 20% about 28,000,000? Am I missing something?

No, that's about right.
148.68M Presidentials
20% = 29.74M
So far for NA's
18.06M P
9.66 D
27.72M current total needing 2.02M for 20%

And there's two more presidents to come in the second half of the year, so by law, lots more NA coins as well.

Which is a good reason why production of the NA dollars is heavier towards the end of the year.
