I am a gluten for punishment so I am going to another public auction tomorrow night. This is just one of a few coins that are going to be offered up for sale. What do you guys think the chances of this coin being way over graded are? Numismedia does not even list a price for anything graded above MS67.

Yah, if you look through ebay, nearly every coin that you would find graded by SGS is a MS70, what are the odds of that.

Definitely look at the resell factor if you do decide to resell. I wouldn't pay anything over an MS67 price for it.
I stay completely away from SGS.

100% chance it's over-graded. It may not even be mint state. I've seen exactly ONE coin from basement slabber SGS that was lower than MS-70 and it was a 69. This is NOT a legitimate TPG or even close to legit.

I had some of those SGS graded coins. Way over graded, I just crack them and place then in 2x2 s Like they said, everything from them is a 70 grade. Stay away from them. Just my opinion

Any coin from SGS that says MS, I wont pay over AU money for it. There is such a fine line between MS64 and AU58.

I also have no issues with ICG. I have no clue about SGS, so I cant say. But I will say this. I have NEVER seen an MS70 ANYTHING from 1957.
As I said, I know nothing of SGS, but if this is an example of their grading, I am inclined to agree with the previous comments.

My opinion ... run away fast and do not look back! SGS is the definition of a basement slabber ... probably a few guys in an unheated garage throwing together pieces of plastic with their own lousy inventory. Buyer Beware! David

Since we're talking about graders outside the big three, what do you guys think about NAC ? I have an MS70 ASE that I got for $20 awhile back, really wondering just how accurate their grades are?
