I would just like to say as an error coin collector that if ever there was a time to start collecting error coins it is now. I go to about 3 coin shows a month and have noticed an increase in error coin dealers lately. The reason is a little obvious. Just think the population of the USA just reached 300,000,000. If you check out mintage quantities in any coin book, you'll notice many, many coins have a mintage only in the low millions or even less. If only 2% or 3% of the population collects coins, the amount of collectors has already reached more than normal mintages of many coins. This means other types of coin collecting will begin to boom as with anything. Now many have started type sets. However, I believe the near future will bring a massive search for error coins.
You should be able to see this coming with every coin forum now having a separate error forum. Note the numerous books being published about error coins. Note pages 386 to 388 in the Red Book. At coin shows I now see error coins of such minor things as a very slight offset selling for $2 or $3.
It is only my opinion as an error collector.

I too have started collecting errors about 2 months ago and have quite a nice collection so far. I find them amazingly interesting. I just wish that more can be found still.
