5 Francs, 1933 - Belgium (3 Officially Destroyed Coins!?)

I bought these three coins for a few bucks, and I asked some info on a dutch forum.. I guess most are convinced these are officially destroyed coins by the minthouse, because also a lot of these 5 francs coins were being withdrawn in 1933 & 1934 for circulation, and thus being destroyed! So I think I got myself 3 nice half coins

Interesting--they sure do appear intentionally cut.

I have seen a documentary of minting of new coins, and quite often the source of metal is from older coins to be recycled.

In this doco., the coins were cut up (as seen here) before melting and re refining.

It seems to me, that these coins were deliberately cut, prior to re processing, Somehow, these half coins have escaped from the mint.
