ChickLit Valued Member Canada 79 Posts	Posted 06/26/2011 06:47 am Has anyone else come across this so called variety? I searched the forms and was unable to find any information on the subject. If I missed it, I would appreciate it if somebody could re-direct me to the original posting. I checked my collection and I have 2 of them. Not only is the H flying, the majority of the coin is flying. It appears to be bleeding from the rim. Report this Post to the Staff

I am limited by the camera, but hopefully this can be seen better. Tumbleweedtrumpet, if it is a variety, they should add flying 7 to that as well. I am finding that there are more, and more. so called varieties cropping up. It's getting difficult to keep track of....... Report this Post to the Staff
Ugly Pillar of the Community Canada 1733 Posts	Posted 06/26/2011 8:58 pm If you do a search on volunteer dimes, you'll find this is the same type of problem with the plating, exactly. I hypothesize that the thin nickel coating on a ten cent piece is easier to pull off/stretch/move from the copper base than on a larger coin like a nickel. I've categorized this as a plating error, since I believe that if they used a thicker plate this would not occur. Report this Post to the Staff
