i ve sold a few lots of pre 82 coper cents on the bay usually get around 75.00 for 50.00 face.time fees come in I make20 dollars on the sale.got 100.00 worth set aside now but waiting on copper to up a little. later greg

johnnybingo, start a new thread on your coin...not nice to hijack somebody else's and welcome !

I'm averaging $172 for $100FV on ebay....not hard to pack if you know how, they will fit in a medium flat rate box. After fees I'm still making about $55 profit.

Don't feel to bad about that. As you stick around here you'll find that mamy times how a post starts has little to do with the subject after a few dozen replys anyway.
And as noted many times on this forum, melting of almost any coins goes on and on and on all the time regardless of any laws.
Copper coins are usually thrown in with wires and cables at smelters all the time by electricians. Many jewlers melt anything Siver. As noted the best thing to do is to simply sell what you have on ebay. And don't forget to always mention "UNSEARCHED"
