This quarter looks nicer than my 1921 (previously posted). I used the digital camera rather than the scanner this time, but I am still trying to improve my technique (I used three light sources for these photos). This coin looks much brighter and is more detailed than these pictures suggest, so there is still room for improvement. Maybe the lights were too bright?

Based on these photos, how does this coin grade?

Here are two more sets of pictures. One set with natural light and one set using an LED light.

Nice coin. My guess would be a strong EF, maybe AU. I'm a little concerned about the wear pattern and the fine vertical scratches. Would be nice to see in hand and under a loop.

I prefer using my scanner as it is so much easier to use.

Is it just the lighting, or am I seeing some really cool die clashes in front of the King's crown and forehead?

I know this is going to sound weird and kind of a double standard....if it was going in my collection I would give it a VF due to the wear...it is close enough that if someone who owned it wanted a grade I would say AU

IMO
