Get a RedBook, it will give you mintages and values, but sometimes its better to look on ebay to see what they are selling for.

Just sort them out by year and mintmark.. Keep and you need/want/look funny, and re-roll the rest for storage or trades You might also want to keep an inventory of them, just in case you need a spare or want to trade a specific date..

Varieties and semi-keys are indeed "found".....so of course there are a couple of exceptions, (but you won't easily find those "exceptions" roll searching anyway), (they're valuable and rare, that's why you'll have a hard time finding them !!) .... ...... but basically, older is better. Common date Wheats would be 1930's, 1940's, and 1950's. ....(.02 to .03 Cents apiece value) So, any Pre-1930 Wheats, would be interesting and slightly more valuable to me. And depending on "condition", well, like you said, you're not "new to collecting", so that goes without saying. In the very unlikely event that you DID find some "key dates", or even "semi-keys" in these rolls, you would be an extremely lucky person indeed ! The Redbook, as mentioned, will give you all the keys and semi-keys to look for.....and some varieties too, if you're in to that. Varieties are, or can be, difficult to pick up on. It takes awhile to develop that necessary "trained eye".

As already noted you may want to spend some time on https://www.coppercoins.com web site or even buy the book written by the owner of that web site. It lists almost every possible error on Cents.
