Still playing with lighting etc to capture slabs properly. So I though rather than waste my less than perfect efforts I'd add them to the grading section and see what others can deduce from them. So coin 2 is an 1864 2 Cent graded by PCGS So what grade do you think they gave it. Edited by nohope587 06/30/2011 9:36 pm

VG-8, the soft strike/uneven wear toward the top of the obverse, is what is keep my grade down somewhat.

This Coin is one of the reasons PCGS Appears third on my choice of TPGs for 2 Cents.. they have a bad tendency of overgrading key coins. I would call it VG8 and I 99% Certain ANACS would as well Next one coming up in a few mins.

I suspected PCGS had overgraded this one. Depending on how it looked in hand I'd have gone with G6 to G8.

Yikes! I was at 8 and maybe 10 with a stretch. Wish I could get them to overgrade my coins like that.

Perhaps another example of the often repeated mantra ... "buy the coin not the holder".

I think this coin is better than 8, but not 15.
