Unless it's light, it's a discolored dime.

I think from the picture it has a good chance. Seems to have smooth even luster. (Most discolored pieces don't) and the color change is only on one side (Most discolored pieces are discolored on both sides.) I think a weight would be the next important piece of data. To two decimal places please if at all possible.

I will weight it as soon as I can and will let you know what the outcome is and thanks for all the help. It may not or may be real but I would like to make sure.

I have one very similar to this. Has anyone figured out the cause? (Mine also appears to have an error)

MissingMaddix, I know you're a new member, but next time please don't hijack someone else's thread as your own thread. Next time, make your own thread and not hijack someone else's.

How did I "hijack" a post? I commented that I have one similar and asked if anyone had come up with an answer. Why make a separate post to ask the exact same question that has already been asked? That's just stupid. If trying to find an answer about a certain topic (ex: a discolored coin), a person usually starts by typing into a search engine. When a forum pops up, you read it in hopes of finding your answer. If the question is not answered, one thing to do is ask if there is an available answer, such as I did. I'm a grown up not a child. Hyjack a post? Really? lol

Wasn't looking for trouble. Now, please don't get mad at me and attack me as I just was telling you to do a new thread. I don't want this to get out of hand.

I apologize. I shouldn't have gone into defensive mood so quickly.

I'm sorry also. I got into defensive mode too. I'm sorry about earlier. It's okay. From now on, I'm not going to use the word "hijack" anymore. Your 2006 P dime has a big Die Chip. It's worth more than face value. I'd say it's worth 5 dollars. Great find. It at least we apologized. I added you to my friend folder. :)

Yeah, I should've explained it to him instead of getting into a arguement. Hijacking someone's thread is when you post your coin on their post making it into your thread. But MissingMaddix it's all good. No harm done. :)

I guess I could get defensive at being called a "him", but it's ok. Lol I have a boy's name and get that all the time. Is my name even visible? Its Dannie if not. :)

I suppose a moderator would have fixed Maddox's problem...if it was a problem to begin with. Let's all wait quietly for OP's weight report on the coin.
EDIT: Maddix* autocorrect and all.

Its Dannie if not. :) The only thing visible in your post is your user name MissingMaddix which gives no clue as to gender. And since coin collecting is, unfortunately, typically over 90% male dominated, being referred to as "him" is pretty automatic. No offense is intended of course.
