The market is large, alright, but do not underestimate the power of the dark side. In this case, it is the international bankers with LARGE gold holdings. If a number of them were to conspire to raise or lower the gold price, it is likely that they very well could do it. As history shows... if a market CAN be manipulated, it WILL be! :-/

The funny part of this, of course, is watching the currency traders jumping back and forth among all of the various fiat currencies. One frying pan seems as good as another, IMHO.
