specksynder Pillar of the Community United States 1080 Posts	Posted 07/02/2011 1:27 pm picked up some dateless Buffalo nickels yesterday to carve up. The first one I looked at was so worn that there was almost no detail in the hair -- perfect for this idea. Obviously, I'm very anxious for fall and football: I just wish I trusted my skills to try adding a Buffalo Bills logo to the helmet. y'know... what If I dipped the coin in wax, they scraped away the logo, then dipped it in nic-a-date or vinegar... hmmm... Hmmm... now there's an idea! Convert the reverse buffalo to the Bills logo! What do you carve with? Also a good idea with the wax/vinegar. With my current skill, I'm leaving divots in my engraving lines which I am not happy with, but I have been unsuccessful in my experiments with hand gravers and die stones and such. making a Buffalo Bills on the reverse is a nice idea I may sketch that out.
