I found 3 well kept 1886 coins (each in a box smaller than a penny)...I don't know anything about coins, but I checked on ebay to get an idea, and I see similar coins, if not the same from 2k-385k, but I don't know if the size and all. BrokaToe Valued Member United States 175 Posts	Posted 07/02/2011 4:29 pm This is a mini replica of the 1886 Double Eagle Gold Coin. One of the main things that gives it away, is that it has 24K stamped on the reverse, the original carried no such stamp. Also the detail at the bottom of the shield seems to be missing some components. The details in the eagle are just not correct on the reverse. These are usually 10mm in diameter. Something I do not know about this is whether or not it is pure 24K gold, or just plated. I'm sure the experts will post soon. In the past when I worked at a local coin shop these would come in a few actually turned out to be gold. Since these are not coins or a normal/desired collectible, I would have it tested.
