The reverse looks good but the obverse is horrible.

Hi Stmpcol

I dont think it is a cast copy ,,many of the earlier date buffs were weakly struck this appears to be the case with this one since both obverse and reverse are weak through the center details of the coin,, but check around the date very carefully for an overdate 18/17 I see something there in your photo but there is a build up of dust there so I cant be sure what I'm seeing from the pic.

Appears that the coin was exposed to something on one side only. May have been in a place with caustic solutions and was just sitting there.
