PCGS website has a MS63 valued at $20, I wouldn't pay more than that for this very common commemorative.

As far as commemoratives go muddler is right, it is very common. Looks like the mint just pooped them out from 46 to 51. Much higher minting number listed for this coin than the other half dollar commemoratives. The ASW is 0.3617 so it is about $12.60 today for silver alone.

It seems like a lot of people find these coin roll hunting, so they must be pretty common.

As noted above ... this is about as 'common' as a member of the Classic US Silver Commemorative set can be ... net distribution of the 1946-S was 500,279 coins ... huge for the series.

I enjoy the BTW half .. and surely encourage you to find a nice one ... but IMHO this particular AU58 coin is worth just a bit above melt.

You can purchase a nice MS63 or so example for perhaps $25 ... so I would hold out for a better coin.
