Hmmm. Man, I don't know about that. I'd sure feel a lot better about that if it were certified. If legit, that's a pretty spectacular error! Seems like the strike would be out of whack. How would the collar hold it? Can't wait to hear from some of our error pros on this one.

Quote: If you send this coin to PCGS, NGC or ANACS and it doesn't come back as genuine, just send it back to me along with your certification form and I'll refund you 110% plus your grading cost! This is a first on ebay.

Hmmmm, it says Quote: The mint accidentally made around 100,000 James Monroe Dollars struck on quarter planchets but surprisingly none have shown up so far. So is it a quarter or dime planchet? Quote: 2008 James Monroe Dollar struck on dime planchet error

Bid is up to 6 grand. How much do you think it sells for? I say 20k. In the future: It will sell at a fancy auction house in a few years, probably for 6 figures. That's my prediction.

Wow, pretty neat. The difference in thickness between a dollar and a dime is so great that I wouldn't expect that many details, but if it is real it is an extreme error. But with free shipping, how can you go wrong? :)

There were indeed a large number of monroes struck on quarter planchets, but the mint reportedly destroyed them all when they were returned by a cash logistics company. If it is struck on a dime planchet its likely a one of a kind error.
