First hi and to the forum.

These coins look to have been removed from jewelry. IMO they would be melt coins because of the damage. These could either be half sovereigns or full sovereigns. They would both be .917 gold or 22k. Half weighs 3.994 grams with .1177 oz of gold and a full weighs 7.9881 grams with .2355 oz of gold. They would be worth close to spot at a coin shop.

To work out the bullion value of a sovereign, look up the spot price - currently $1530/ounce - then multiply by 0.2355 ounces. $360 each.

Should also point out that the 1927 one was minted in South Africa.

In Texas you would be lucky to get spot for these. Sorry. Sell them and put that money into nice coins you like. Best of luck.
