i had a question I'm new to graded coins! so long story short I really wanted somthing that was graded in MS 69 or 70 but 70 seems to expensive so I went MS 69... So I receive the coin and there is a little tone line that runs across the coin I was wondering dose this affect the value? is it still MS69? paid 62 shipped for it lmk if I gotten a good deal! thanks in adv here are some pics

Unique tone line, as I have never seen one form in that way. It is one of a kind, so who knows. If you bought it buy it now, I imagine that is pretty close to its value, and it will always be worth 1 oz. of silver, and to a small group of collectors of unique similar qualities or defects in coins or money, it will probably have a place....

What strikes me as strange about that, is tone usually seems to form to my amateur eye at least, like a rounded edge fashion with no distinct lines, more of a fade into silver if you will....

Did you see this line in good picture before buying?

And are you yourself happy, as that is all that matters in the end?

i didnt notice the line when I place a bid because it was taken with flash but when I went back to look at it the tone line was there but you had to look close... if its a true grade of ms 69 then I will be happy... otherwise ill be dissapointed but I can live with the tone mark

Usually toning doesn't affect the actual grade, but because this is a proof and not just bullion, I would have passed as it really detracts from the overall look of the coin. It probably is still MS69, just not as nice, IMO, as others. Also, if you don't care about the coin being MS70/Pf70, then I would suggest buying an ASE in original government packaging because nearly all ASE will grade at least a 69 and you may be able to get a little discount if not slabbed, but not always.

I am guessing the picture intentionally had flash to make the line not noticeable. Did the description say anything about the toning? Also see what kind of return policy the seller has. If you don't like it and can return, it then might as well return it, and get something you like. As far as the grade goes, there is a PCGS label that says the coin is PR69DCAM, so you should be able to resell it as such, whenever you decide you want to sell it. Of course that detracting line will make the price lower.

That seems kind of sketchy if the seller did not note the fact there was a tone-line. I mean seriously, if I owned a PCGS MS69 with a noticeable tone-line like that, I would mention there IS in fact one in the description of the item. The fact the dealer didn't mention it makes you wonder sometimes about the types of sellers on ebay.

If you can try to buy them in person at shops, coin shows or folks on this forums go for it. I seem to have had better experience so far. I like the coin you have. It's kinda like a rebel ASE encased in a PCGS MS69 slab with a tattoo. Keep it.

If you ever want to sell it I think you will never get more than melt. That is pretty abnormal toning.
Rest in Peace

I'd send that ugly POS back. No way it will keep 69.

Cause was rubber band, either before or after slobbing.

Not a fan of slabbing coins (especially not ASEs because, like AlmostCollectible said, they come pretty close to perfect as it is), but i'd keep it. Looks pretty unique and a bit of slap to PGCS's face
