I picked up this 1881 O Morgan in a new shop I had never heard of that was right around the corner from my house. I don't know anything about Morgans so please excuse any ignorance but I thought it looked pretty nice. Let me know if I did great or failed miserbly. Be honest. Thanks Andrew

Grade-wise I don't know, but it looks cleaned. Depending on what you paid for it, you may or may not have gotten a good deal. BTW Kind of a coincidence too; I just picked up an 1881 O Morgan also: https://goccf.com/t/92455

Yes I wasn't sure if it was cleaned or polished. I picked it up for a dollar over melt so not too bad.

The obverse looks cleaned, hard to tell if the revers was because of the luster in the pic.
Still a nice find for a dollar over melt.

Yeah I'm bad at taking pictures. I thought it looked cleaned and the guy said it wasn't cleaned but he didn't really speak English either. Oh well always worth melt.

that reverse looks like its polished because you wouldn't expect to see any reflection on the devices of a coin like you would in the fields. I am going to say grade wise its probably VF or XF grade but probably going to be a details grade because of what I said before about the reflection in the devices. I do not know of any lighting techniques that would cause this effect in a picture

Common date cleaned AU and sounds like it was priced appropriately.

At a dollar over melt it really doesn't matter if it has been cleaned or not. Good deal indeed.

agree looks dipped to me also. but you didnt overpay. Alot of the big mail order coin dealers are notorious for dipped coins.
