I just know from reading a lot of other postings here that there a good number of fakes out there, so be certain it's real! It should have a weight of about 27.22 grams, and since it's silver, a magnet shouldn't try to stick to it. This one appears to me to be inFine condition. What kind of price does your friend want for it?

I would say it is fake. berries on Obv look different. Also rev seems to be wrong (don't think they should be as round). Let the experts chime in but I would say fake for sure.

Check magnet and weight. But I see nothing saying it is fake.

Nothing stands out as a red flag in the images presented. They're insufficient to make a conclusive determination, though, as *any* image would be, of a coin so commonly subject to counterfeiting at a high level of quality.
If real, it's a nice XF at a fair price.

Have him sign that if it comes back from a mutually agreed ToiletPaperGuy as genuine, fine, but otherwise he pays grading expenses (inclu ship) and refunds.

I don't see anything on it that makes me think it's fake.

Obverse 1 with Reverse 2 die marriage. All the dates and markers check out. If it's fake, it's a VERY good one. $175 is a VERY good price for it too. (However, IMO, With Trade dollars it's ALWAYS better to get a graded/certified one...)

I agree, I do not see anything that is telling me it is fake. The price is ok also but if you are thinking about buying it to resale I would send it in to ANACS before I put it up for sale just to prove authenticity

coin looks ok to me but my personal approach to Trade dollars is to never buy a raw one.

The Trade dollar in question is 100% authentic in my opinion and it is entirely original. No altered surfaces, no cleanings, no dips. Its condition is Very Fine in my opinion and I wouldn't ask less than $200.00 for it. It is a lovely no problem coin and you should have no problem at all with selling it for your friend. Good luck.

Those of you who replied with a proclamation that this coin is real had better go back to the basics. This is a struck Chinese counterfeit. I wouldn't pay $2.00 for this.
