1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar - Coin Community Forum

JayDon62 Valued Member United States 138 Posts	Posted 07/07/2011 2:18 pm Any thoughts on this half dollar? This was found in my Father In-Law's possesions. Since he was not an active collector, I think it was put away in the 1950's or 1960's. I am interested in feedback as to whether it is genuine (I am very wary of fakes) and what grade you would give it. I have enclosed a closeup of the obverse, where there is a faint "P" to the left of the bust and on the cheek a faint "C". Unfortunately, the coin does have some old light graffiti(someone's initials?) but it has EF details so it is still quite a nice coin Report this Post to the Staff
