So..I am pretty convinced I have a DDR...But I have had several that I thought were but ended up not being...What do you think? 1999D 1DR-005 (doubling on floor and planters Also...what causes the different colors on the front and is there away to remove it without damaging the coin. I live in Mississippi and I probably see 50 pennies with color like this per 25 dollar box... Thanks Edited by Jayman931 07/10/2011 04:53 am

Your coin does not match the one on CC's site. IMHO I don't think it's a DDR,sorry. John1

Coop- To me it looks exaclty like the ones from coppercoins.com 1999D-1DR-005. Can you explain to me the differences? This is a learning experience to me. (and I have learned alot in the last 2 months with help from this sites members!) http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds

The side steps appear to be stronger Machine Doubling than on the example I'm showing: The doubling from what I can see is like the doubling on the second image above on the devices. Better images of the tops of the plant stands would show how they are different. That is where the real doubling is noticed. The floor doubling can be seen on many machine doubled examples. (Not that this is Machine Doubling on the ddr-005) But get the best images of the tops of the plant stands. (They extend to columns 3 & 10.)

I went to my roll of extreme machine doubled examples and this the one I was looking for. It was on the top of the roll. Hope this helps?

I agree it looks like the Machine Doubling pictured above...but this picture on the coppercoins.com website that shows a DDR looks the same...can you explain to me the difference? I don't see it... This pic(below) is from coppercoins and is a 1999D-1DR-005

Jayman,
Can you post a decent photo of the right half of the memorial? The photos in your original post are all of the left half, yet the example photo you use from coppercoins website is of the right half.

Sea- I definitley will but it will be tomorrow. On my coin the planter on the left has doubling as well. I really need to get a different camera set up in the near future. I will do what I can.

Or get a real camera: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-FD-100-Mav...em2564ddab91I use one of these for my images. with (micro images) or without a scope (full coin images) they turn out good. Uses 3.5 floppies or memory stick with macro feature. I've taken 20-30 thousand images with my two cameras through the years.

Jayman, The planter box looks promising, but the light reflection on the steps is too much for me to see better details. Do you see any of the die markers that are mentioned on the coppercoins site? To defuse the light and get less reflection, try putting a piece of white paper in front of the light source, or as I often do, use a Walmart bag over it. Also try to get the lights source and camera directly over the coin.

Floppy disk what's that? Hummm, 2.5 inch screen verses the 14 inch on my computer. End result seems the same but one seems a little easier...
