What a time we had. Spent all day at the coin show and was able to upgrade quite a few of the "G" Barber Halfs in my collection. I also picked up two 1921 Peace dollars at a very reasonable cost of $90.00 dollars a piece. I have been looking for that particular date in at least XF condition and I believe I got one that might even be close to AU. Got to stop and talked with the people from ANACS and NGC. Also had a pleasant surprise and found Wizard Supply there. Tons of Verdicare and picked up another bottle along with the other items to go with the product. They spoke volumes of Thad and what his preservative can do.

My wife found several 'notes' from where she was born at, all ungraded of course so we had to go to the NGC version for paper money and paid their membership fee. That got five of the six notes graded for free and paid for another out of pocket. There were at least 150 exhibitors and it took all day to get through. Gold galore and Morgans that would stop a car in its tracks. ALso picked up some F/VF Morgans to add to the collection at $27.00 a piece, very close to melt. Didn't find any Walkers for album that I really "Had" to have so there are still spots open.

If you have never visited a Coin show of this magnitude I highly recommended it. There were lots of deals everywhere and people enjoyed talking with you, except PCGS, they acted like we weren't even there. To bad for them, they lost out on a couple of hundred dollars for grading some coins I took and our paper we bought.

All in all, terrific time and hope everyone gets a chance to visit at least one show in their lifetime. I was able to give the tracking number (so to speak) to NGC for the Shielded Nickel I sent in and they were able to give me a status on the spot. It is still a couple of weeks out from being finished.

Now it is on Dillard, GA for the night and then a week in a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN (Yearly Pilgrimage).

Enjoy all.

p.s. I know you all want pictures but at this moment in time I can't do that as my scanner is about 1,000 miles away..

Also forgot about the Bust half from PCGS, Barber half from NGC and a Paper note graded by NGC that is being held for me when I get back home. My local dealer was there and said "Pick what you want, we will take it back home with us for ya". Now that is the type of shop I deal with and the Bust seems to be a high relief compared to the other two they had........

I can't wait to get home and snag them for the collection..

Sounds like a weekend well spent! Eat breakfast for me at the Dillard House or the Cupboard Cafe! Paleoguy

Not only ate breakfast at the Dillard House, we got there about 5:00 at night, ate dinner, got our room, petted the horses, went to bed, got up
and then ate breakfast at the Dillard House.

It is by far the best I have eaten in a very very long time. Well worth the drive.

On a side note, went to Cherokee to the casino. My wife who loses everything she touches hit 11,980 credits on a slot machine.

It was on 1 cent machine though. :)
