63/64 is about right, and it looks like VAM-6, fairly early die state. Pics are a good start for a point-and-shoot, but I'm worried that the camera lacks enough manual control to really maximize its' ability with coins. It's going to be up to you to figure out what you're able to control manually.
I note from the EXIF data on your images that the exposure was only 1/60 at f/2.8 and ISO500. This indicates that you could/should throw a bunch more light at the coin - the exposure at those settings should have been more like 1/250 or 1/500. F/2.8 means that, even with a P&S, you're not going to have enough depth of field to focus the whole surface of the coin unless you're absolutely perpendicular to it; the images tend to support this conclusion - they're a little less-focused on the right than the left.
First thoughts: Force the metering to "Spot" and the focus mode to "1pt AF." This will make the camera evaluate lighting and focus on the center of the image, so the background will not affect the picture. If you can, force the ISO to 100 or 200. Then, throw enough light onto the coin to get your exposures to 1/100 or faster. There are other things we can play with, if you have enough manual control over the camera.
I've probably gone a little overboard with the terminology here; the point is, this is all language you're going to need a working command of if you want to make this camera work for VAMming. Please bring this aspect of things into the Photography forum, and we'll be happy to help maximize your camera's results. I'd prefer to do that technical stuff there, rather than muck up the Grading forum with content that will make some people's eyes just glaze over.
