I think this is another of those jewelry pieces you see on arabic style costumes. I'll bet it's very thin and the two holes indicate that it was used in this fashion.

Sorry, but this is not a real coin. It's another variant on the "imitation Ottoman gold coin", made for jewllery purposes. The coin this one is copied from is the base-silver 8 kharub from Tunisia province, early 1800s. NGC example of a genuine coin.

For some reason, the folks that made these jewellery replicas sometimes chose to use silver coins from North Africa (Tunisia and Algeria) as the models for their brassy-gold items.
