Hello!
Could you please help identify this? And is it a coin?

Well, the mintmark looks like the Chinese Szechuan Mint, during the Empire period.
That's putting it around the 1800's. The bumps all in the field on the other side makes it really hard to identify the denomination, but it looks like a one cash coin, C# 24-2 in Krause catalog. If this is that coin, it would be cast brass.

AT least, this should be a good starting point for a member who knows the Chinese coins better than I do.

And, btw, welcome to CCF.

Tam, thank you so much! Finally some information. I was starting to think it is a fake coin that costs nothing.

Thank you once more!

Sorry, but those "bumps all in the field on the other side" are a surefire indication that this coin is actually a modern reproduction. These fakes are made by machine, like "normal" modern coins, while the original cash coins were cast in sand. The bumps are the manufaturer attempting to replicate the bumpy, sandy background of a genuine coin.

The emperor being imitated in this case is Kang Xi.

Despite being fake, genuine cash coins of this very long-lived emperor are very cheap and common so the price difference between fake and real is very low. The "Chinese cash coins $2 each" trays that most of the coin dealers have around here usually contain many objects like this.

I was suspicious of all those bumps, too. I just wasn't too sure about them. Thanks, Sap.
