What is the estimated value of the shipment? That is going to determine the duties if there are any. Have you looking into incoming shipments and what qualifies for extra fees?

For that kind of info I would go directly to the India Customs Service, Don't go on any advice you get from anonymous people over the internet. That could be a good way of getting yourself in a load of trouble!.
I would start here,
http://www.cbec.gov.in/cae1-english.htm
Going down all the way to the bottom of this form, It looks as if you are looking at a minimum 16% duty/tariff, But what limits and other restrictions there are I don't know.

They did mint Sovereigns in India for one year so it makes it a one year type. I love and collect sovereigns, too.
