Hi All, I'm new to formal collectiong and I have a bill from my great grandmother that I can't seem to find any information on.

It is a series 1969 D $1 bill. The odd part is that it measures only 1-1/4" X 3".

Have any of you every heard of or seen anything like this?

Thank you,

Mike

Play money, I would guess.

Thanks for the trust, But Mine is real and not Photoshopped. Please see the image below, The measurements are 1-1/4" X 3".

I have yet to see any information anywhere even mentioning something similar.

Thanks.

It is a novelty, not a BEP product

I did a Google search and found this:
http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ed074p1357.2

So my question is, does it smell of ammonia?

Looks like someone just scanned a real one then printed a 2nd one out at a smaller size. It's still technically a counterfeit so I wouldn't try to sell it or give it away.

If it's paper is correct, then it's just the result of an experiment. These show up at flea markets occassionally.

Feel Washington's jacket with your fingernail.. Do you feel the ripples that result from it being printed on an Intaglio press?
If it is smooth, then it is a fake..

My LCS has one of these. It is anhydrous ammonia that shrinks the bill.
