We know times are a bit tough these day: lack of jobs, inflation, food prices increasing as a result of floods/drought damaging crops, gas prices increasing, U.S. dollar decreasing, trade deficit increasing, Global Economy changing to the worse, U.S. debt spiraling out of control, etc. In light of all the above mentioned excitement and much more to come, how will this effect the way you purchase coins? Not sure what your saying at all. If you get Social Security you would see a note from our Government clearly stating no increase again this year since there has been no cost of living increases at all. Same note year after year so that proves there is really no increase in the cost of living. Why who would know better than the people that get those big raises from out tax money? As for me I by coins for a hobby so I really don't think about the values, costs, etc.

I don't see any big changes at the moment; I'm more in to organizing, authenticating and grading the small collection I have now, rather than adding anything new. If I come across something that hits me, I will still buy.

The poor economy has caused a lot of old change to dump into circulation. The bad news is that this has prevented the newly minted coins from circulating and finding their way into my collection. The good news is that I am seeing a lot of older dates. It is not that I need them, but it makes me smile.

I think there is a lot of opportunity for buyers with people looking for cash by selling grampa's old coins. Also the lines are long with people selling silver to be melted. Pre '64 coins gotta get scarce eventually I would think? I'm buying all my wife will let me

Not really, only thing that keeps me from buying coins is my poor economy.... and even that isn't doing a very good job keeping me from them

The poor US economy hasn't affect my buying at all. Well I take that back, the decline in the value of the dollar compared to the Pound has made Conder tokens from England more expensive. Other than that my economy hasn't gotten worse so I have as much money as ever for buying coins.

My income is down by half since 2009, so I'm focusing on low-cost stuff in numismatics and buying as much silver bullion as I can afford.

We have increased our roll searches and a saving more coins that are collectable.

My buying has tapered off a lot but its not the economy its the lack of local venues to buy.. I've pretty much cleaned out the local supply
